"Megisti" is based in Lyttelton Harbour on Banks Peninsular. Charters bookings in the Nelson and Abel Tasman area are available for January and Febuary 2012.
Tim Newman is the owner/skipper of Megisti. He has had 36 years of sailing experience, mainly about the Banks Peninsula but also in Australia and the Adriatic.
Tim has a wide range of catamaran sailing experience ranging from Hobi cats, where he was a NZ rep and 3rd in the South Pacific Champs, to Mediterranean sailing and a Pacific crossing.
He brought his boat across the Pacific in 2007 and holds his Master's Certificate.
This catamaran was built by Robertson and Caine in South Africa in 2002 and was operated as a charter boat in the Caribbean before arriving in New Zealand in 2007.
She is a 42ft cruising catamaran with four cabins, all with private ensuites.
Fishing equipment, kayaks, towing biscuit, wetsuits,
DVD, BBQ, are all included.
SSB,VHF radios, radar, safety equipment exceeding MNZ standards. Megisti is the only catamaran currently in the Nelson region certified under the latest MNZ rule 40E for sailing vessels
Megisti Charters is DOC licensed to land on the foreshore of the Abel Tasman National Park
